25 May Alfalight finds Chinese distributor for high-power lasers
Madison, Wis. — Alfalight, a firm that makes high-power lasers for industrial, defense, and telecommunications uses, said it has established ties with Chinese distributor Sanetronic Company Limited.
Sanetronic’s main office is in Kowloon, Hong Kong. The company was founded in 1987 as an international distributor of electronic components, and it now has eight offices in China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Wuhan, and Chengdu.
Alfalight makes aluminum-free active region, or ALFA, diode lasers. On Monday, the University of Wisconsin-Madison spinout said it has increased by 33 percent the energy efficiency of its lasers at a 976 nanometer wavelength, well into infrared.
