05 Apr GE Healthcare to sponsor national AIDS awareness tour
GE Healthcare will present and sponsor Camp Heartland’s Journey of Hope AIDS Awareness Tour to take place April 6 to 28.
The event is a national bus tour focused on HIV/AIDS prevention and education. Children and adolescents impacted by AIDS will share their stories with the goal of inspiring and educating audiences along the route.
Camp Heartland, founded in 1993, is a non-profit that offers year-round support, advocacy, recreational and community programs to those affected by HIV/AIDS.
The Journey of Hope Tour will travel to 12 cities and address thousands of youth and adults. Starting in Minneapolis and ending in Los Angeles, the tour features groups of youth aged 10 to 25 on a mission of education and awareness about HIV/AIDS, with a dual focus on prevention and understanding. The speakers have been affected by HIV and AIDS either through their own illness, through family members living with the disease, or by having lost loved ones to AIDS.
GE Healthcare is a subsidiary of General Electric and corporate parent of GE Healthcare Technologies, which is based in Milwaukee.
