Johnson Controls to sell French engine electronics business

MilwaukeeJohnson Controls plans to sell its engine electronics business to Valeo, a French company that will pay approximately 330 million Euros, or $430 million in today’s dollars. The business is headquartered in Pontoise, France. Johnson Controls bought it in 2001 from another French technology company, Sagem, and estimates its fiscal 2004 revenues at 350 million Euros.

SBC Foundation donates $1 million to Urban League

The National Urban League, an organization focused on the economic success of African-Americans, has received a $1 million grant from the SBC Foundation, an arm of SBC Communications. The grant will be used for technology training, including programming, 3D animation and IT administration. Among the regional Urban Leagues that will was the Urban League of Racine and Kenosha, Inc., in Wisconsin.
