08 Dec SBC Foundation awards technology grants in Wisconsin
SBC Communications Inc., through its non-profit arm the SBC Foundation, has given $285,500 in technology-related grants to Wisconsin non-profits, the Business Journal of Milwaukee has reported.
Twenty-four organizations that provide social services to at-risk youth and underserved populations received money to help them use more technology. The grants were part of SBC’s Excelerator program, which typically gives from $2,500 to $25,000 per organization.
Ten of the 24 grants, totalling $145,360, were to Milwaukee-area groups.
SBC Communications is a telecommunications company operating in Wisconsin and 12 other states and headquartered in San Antonio, Texas.
