08 Sep Rockwell Automation gets out of call-center business
Rockwell Automation, a Milwaukee-based company that makes industrial control systems, has sold its call-center software to Concerto Software, a privately owned Massachusetts company.
Concerto announced Wednesday that it would add Rockwell’s call-center solution, known as FirstPoint Contact, to its own for an undisclosed sum. The sale will allow Rockwell to focus on its industrial automation business, Keith D. Nosbusch, the company’s chief executive, said in a statement.
Concerto will expand geographically as well as adding to its products. FirstPoint Contact’s president, Terry Murphy, is set to become Concerto’s executive vice president of corporate development. The company has about 1,000 employees.
Products are available for both Internet telephony and regular telephone call centers, the company said.
