TeraMEDICA and Capital Data enter into diagnostic imaging agreement

MILWAUKEE—TeraMEDICA announced an agreement Thursday with Capital Data, Inc., an independent provider of enterprise technology solutions and financial services, according to TeraMEDICA’s executive vice president, Paul Schmelzer.
Through the agreement, Capital Data will bundle TeraMEDICA’s TI2m archive solution into its own enterprise computing and storage solutions in a territory that includes Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Illinois and Michigan.
TI2m is an enterprise archive software solution designed to capture data from imaging devices or picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), store the digital images, and make them available for delivery to the point of patient care across the healthcare enterprise.
“Currently, Capital Data has a number of customers in the health care arena primarily focused on the information systems side of hospitals,” said Capital Data’s executive vice president of sales, Tim LaMalfa. “Offering TI2m as part of our enterprise infrastructure solution will provide us a foray into the diagnostic imaging side of the house.”
Capital Data, located in Milwaukee’s Third Ward, is an authorized iForce partner of Sun Microsystems. TI2m is written to run on the Sun Solaris Platform. LaMalfa added that this agreement separates Capital Data from other Sun resellers because the company is the first to offer digital medical imaging storage and distribution as part of its solution.
Founded in 2001, TeraMEDICA is a medical informatics company that operates out of the Milwaukee. The company is developing a new generation of software that manages the storage and distribution of digital medical images across health care or hospital systems. The software gathers images from PACS, stores them and distributes them to the point of patient care.
