Plexus and SRI International team up to offer medical product development

Plexus Corp. and non-profit SRI International have announced they are working together to develop and commercialize new medical technologies. Company officials said the two organizations would be able to offer interdisciplinary skills to all sizes of technology companies.
“Companies with creative product ideas often struggle with how to prove their concepts and bring them to successful commercialization,” said Michael McGuire, vice president of worldwide sales and marketing at Plexus. “The Plexus and SRI team offers these companies the services they need to bring their ideas to fruition and capture new markets.”
Based in Neenah, Wis., Plexus develops and manufactures branded products for a variety of worldwide industries including medicine, networking, defense and computers.
SRI International, out of Silicon Valley, was founded in 1946 by Stanford University and corporate interests as the Stanford Research Institute and later became a non-profit entity. It independently researches new technologies and products, licenses technologies and creates spin-off companies.
SRI’s medical research includes drug discovery and development as well as a range of interdisciplinary contributions in materials science and computers.
