30 Jun Wingra Technologies releases new e-mail-message migration software
MADISON – Wingra Technologies announced Tuesday its release of GroupWise Migrator for Exchange Version 2.2, a set of software tools that automates the migration of server and desktop data from Novell GroupWise to Microsoft Exchange.
Earlier versions of GroupWise Migrator for Exchange could convert mail, archives, personal address books, frequent contacts and personal distribution lists from GroupWise to Exchange. The new version adds the ability to migrate large GroupWise archives directly to Microsoft Outlook 2003 and automatically creates mailboxes and sets mailbox forwarding.
Organizations using the latest release can now migrate up to 20 gigabytes of GroupWise archives per .pst file to Outlook 2003, simplifying both the administrator and end-user migration process since the entire archive can be converted in one batch. Previously, archives had to be divided into numerous smaller files.
The new release is also equipped with an administrator bulk-migration tool that automatically creates Exchange mailboxes and sets appropriate mail forwarding as individuals are migrated. This assures the avoidance of mail looping and takes the burden off administrators to manually manage forwarding between GroupWise and Exchange.
In addition, Wingra’s GroupWise Migrator for Exchange includes a pre-migration system scanning tool and intelligent error analyzer that advises administrators on resolution techniques when errors occur.
“The new release of GroupWise Migrator for Exchange will not only help enterprises move information with high accuracy but also significantly smooth out the entire migration process, and lower the burden on administrators responsible for the project,” said Steven Entine, chief information officer, Wingra Technologies.
Wingra’s GroupWise Migrator for Exchange, originally released June 2003, has been used to migrate over 350,000 mailboxes in large and small enterprises worldwide including: Journal Broadcast Group, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, City of New York, U.S Department of Agriculture and Cleveland Clinic.
Wingra Technologies, based in Madison, is a provider of messaging integration and migration solutions.
