21 Jun Wisconsin Virtual School selects eClassroom to power its program
Tomahauk, Wis. – The Wisconsin Virtual School program has selected eClassroom, the K-12 division of eCollege, to power its online program starting in August for the fall term. WVS, in its fifth year, is a statewide online program based in Tomahawk that serves students in approximately 90 school districts.
WVS is designed to enable districts to stretch resources and enhance their existing curriculum. The program’s online offerings allow students to make up credits, alleviate schedule conflicts and take courses at an accelerated pace. WVS plans to expand its program this fall to include middle school courses, as well as AP courses and other non-AP courses offered through Aventa Learning.
“Our program has doubled in size each year, and given this rapid growth, we needed a complete solution that could provide greater efficiencies and scalability,” said Jerry Fiene, leader of the Cooperate Educational Service Agency #9, the organization supporting WVS. “Not only does eClassroom provide the administrative support we need to manage our continued growth without having to staff up internally, it also has the partnerships in place to help us further advance our program to meet the evolving needs of our students.”
The eClassroom solution consists of the five key components intended to create and support virtual school success, including planning, course creation and delivery, teacher development, administrator support and student support.
eClassroom, based in Denver, Colo., supports school districts and state departments of education in providing complete virtual schools.
