Esker begins automated faxing and mailing service

MADISON — Esker has announced a service it claims will eliminate the hassles of in-house corporate faxing and mailing. By outsourcing regular communications such as invoices or orders, companies can buy fax or mail services on a per-use basis without maintaining their own equipment or, in the case of faxes, phone systems.
“We see customers looking to automate document delivery like a metered service in order to save money and IT resources, and only pay for what they use,” said Mitch Baxter, executive vice president of business
development at Esker. “With Esker on Demand we can offer a flexible document delivery solution that adapts to capacity requirements and takes infrastructure acquisition and maintenance costs out of the picture.”
Other electronic faxing services exist, of course. Some, such as eFax, are available for a monthly fee and convey faxes through e-mail. Esker on Demand is designed to take documents directly from business applications. Documents can be queued and delivered in bunches, perhaps at the end of each month, for example.
The service is part of Esker’s DeliveryWare line and has seen use already. Virginie Langenfeld, solutions manager for DeliveryWare, said Esker on Demand has processed more than 250,000 pages from a variety of clients.
“Due to the success of the service; we went from sending 500 letters to sending 15,000 letters per month with Esker on Demand,” said Dominique Faivre, information systems manager at AGF.
