MyWeather announces availability of customizable desktop application

MADISON – MyWeather, a Madison-based provider of online weather services to more than 550 Web sites, announced Tuesday the availability of a customizable desktop application, Live Online. The application is designed to be used by businesses use to alert their customers, prospects and employees of important company news, updates and local weather.
Live Online provides users with more flexibility in how they handle information. Clients and their subscribers can choose what categories appear on the desktop and can configure the severe weather alerts to target highly specific regions. Subscribers choose which alerts to receive and how the desktop application is displayed: tray icon, “slimline mode” and/or “full mode.”
The ability to display information in different modes is intended to maximize the time branding and messages remain visible on the desktop. Positions are built into the slimline mode to allow messages to always be present on screen and into the main mode directly next to breaking news and weather information. Live Online fully integrates with other MyWeather-supported products, including Premium Weather.
“Low intrusion, high-impact communication tools are essential to cut through the clutter of online information,” said Matt Peterson, MyWeather president. “Our unique, patented weather forecasts and alerts allow us to deliver communication vehicles with broad reach and high frequency. Live Online gives businesses the opportunity to touch people 24/7 with valuable weather forecasts and alerts under their own brands, thus providing a powerful medium for conveying important messages.”
