UL to provide Datasyst with telecommunications certification testing

DELAFIELD, Wis.- Datasyst Engineering and Testing Services and Underwriters Laboratories have announced they will work together on certifying network equipment building systems (NEBS) tests for telecommunications suppliers. The tests cover components of the systems such as seismic and transportation vibration, heat, humidity, and altitude.
Underwriters Laboratories, a not-for-profit product testing company, will provide customers of both companies access to its Verizon-affiliated independent testing lab and place an engineer at the Milwaukee-based Datasyst to witness tests.
“The outcome is that customers will win with this arrangement because UL and DATASYST are in good position to provide the optimum quality in NEBS testing and, as a Verizon ITL, UL can provide premium local service,” added Kevin Ravo, general manager, UL Information Technology/Telecom Strategic Business Unit.
The agreement went into effect this provides customers of both UL and DATASYST local access to a qualified Verizon Independent Testing Laboratory for NEBS through UL.
