RedPrarie to provide Polaris with supply chain tech

Waukesha, Wis. — RedPrairie Corporation, a Waukesha-based provider of supply chain technology, will install an integrated supply chain for Polaris Industries. Minnesota-based Polaris, a manufacturer of recreational and utility vehicles, will shift its parts, garments and accessories business to RedPrairie.
RedPrairie’s warehouse management and slotting applications, DLx Warehouse and DLx Slotting, are expected to improve Polaris’ replenishment operations, pickface slotting and warehouse space utilization. When combined with LENS, RedPrairie’s visibility tool, the technology is expected to improve Polaris’ customer service with up-to-date order status information.
LENS is designed to provide visibility for distribution alerts, allowing customer service representatives to intervene and take corrective action if necessary. With the technology, Polaris can plan operations and respond to real-time distribution changes because of its network-wide visibility to inbound and outbound orders.
RedPrairie’s performance measurement technology will also measure and track the results Polaris achieves in its DCs. This will give management visibility to performance across the network, enabling them to respond to potential problems and adversely affect customer service.
Polaris expects to premiere RedPrairie’s suite of supply chain execution solutions to its Vermillion, S.D. distribution center in late 2004.
