Franklin, Wis. — OASYS, a leading developer of K-12 software solutions for special education and No Child Left Behind management, recently announced their online, ASP software that streamlines the process of individualized education programs (IEPs) and monitors the progress of children with disabilities.
OASYS Online, which was introduced in 16 Wisconsin school districts during 2003, provides special education teachers, speech and language therapists, physical therapists, psychologists and administrators with an online solution to automate the process of writing customized IEPs, evaluation findings, invitations to parents and all other required forms and records.
OASYS Online includes the children with disabilities (CWD) management system and IEP Forms Manager suites. The Forms Manager automatically inserts data stored within the CWD management system and commonly used statements into the appropriate fields of the IEP. OASYS Online also offers @Home Access.
OASYS offers improved management and accountability with its integrated CWD management system. This data management utility provides a way to find, track and report information on all special education students and the services they are receiving. OASYS Online can also interface the CWD with a district’s current student information system.
OASYS Online was designed to be an ASP version of its client/server predecessor, with accessibility through a Web browser. Offering OASYS through a Citrix MetaFrame Server provide small and large districts with a secure, district-wide and home-access solution.
The back-end component for the OASYS system is Sybase SQL Anywhere Database. This database is SQL compliant, ODBC compliant offering OASYS with interoperability capable of accessing and sharing information with databases from other companies. The Sybase SQL database is non-proprietary and non platform-specific.
