28 Jan RedPrairie in Tune with Music Supplier
WAUKESHA, Wis. -RedPrairie announced Wednesday it will support American Musical Supply’s (AMS) expansion plans through an integrated mix of supply chain execution solutions. AMS, a supplier of musical instruments, plans to construct a customer distribution network next year and develop business-to-business sales channels using RedPrairie’s distribution and enterprise vision products.
“AMS was driven to establish a Nevada facility and implement RedPrairie’s SCE solutions to provide faster turnaround time and better customer support for west coast consumers. Also, as AMS attempts to move into the business-to-business market and handle more high volume orders, it’s imperative we reduce transportation costs through improved transit times,” according to Peter Rubacky, chief of operations of AMS.
RedPrairie’s DLx warehouse will enable AMS to automate operations through system-directed work using RF technology. By transitioning from manual processes to an electronic, paperless environment the system is designed to improve inventory accuracy to over 99.9 percent and reduce manual errors.
AMS will also deploy RedPrairie’s productivity management solution, consisting of labor software, engineering standards and change management in order to improve labor productivity in the warehouse.
In addition, RedPrairie’s visibility tool, LENS, will provide network-wide visibility to inbound and outbound orders to better plan operations and respond to real-time distribution changes.
Based out of Waukesha, Wis., RedPrairie Corporation’s is a developer of global supply chain technology solutions, whose customers include Compaq Computer, Procter & Gamble, Nestle, Panasonic, Georgia-Pacific, Eveready, Unilever, Exel, General Electric and Amazon.com.
