28 Jan Merge’s Simon Elected to DICOM Standards Committee
MILWAUKEE- Merge eFilm, a Wisconsin-based global healthcare software and services company, announced Wednesday that Dwight Simon, its medical standards director and senior integration specialist, has been elected as the Co-Chair of the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) Standards Committee.
The DICOM Standards Committee creates and maintains international standards for the communication of biomedical, diagnostic and therapeutic information in medical disciplines that use digital images and associated data. The committee was created in 1983 by the American College of Radiology and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association in order to create a standard method for the transmission of medical images and their associated information.
