City of Milwaukee Awards Crestone International 5-Year Contract

MILWAUKEE – The City of Milwaukee awarded Thursday, Jan. 6th a five-year hosting and application management contract to Crestone International, a Georgia-based company, for its PeopleSoft Human Resources and Financials application program.
An open and competitive bid process was managed jointly by the City and representatives from the Government Financial Officers Association, the City’s third-party consultant. The city selected Crestone as its hosting and application support partner and has since transitioned its PeopleSoft applications to the Crestone Managed Services Center.
Benefits the City of Milwaukee expects to gain from the contract include improved system up-time, disaster recovery services, system security and increased productivity from re-aligned staff.
“Our hosting contract with Crestone provides the City with an opportunity to reduce its total cost of ownership while re-aligning our existing staff from maintenance tasks to value-added roles that directly impact our core business. We are now positioned to expedite the delivery of enhanced services and critical system functionality to the City at lower total costs” said Randy Gschwind, chief information officer for the City of Milwaukee.
An upgrade of Milwaukee’s PeopleSoft application is slated for April 2004.
