17 Sep Aurora Selects New Imaging Technology
MILWAUKEE,WI — Aurora Health Care is planning to open a new state-of-art healthcare facility in October, 2003. This all new digital hospital will include the latest in digital imaging technology from technology vendor Emageon. Both patients and physicians will benefit from enterprise storage and distribution of digital medical images across its integrated delivery network (IDN).
Aurora Health Care established in 1984 is a nationally recognized leader in efforts to improve the quality of health care. It has significant presence in eastern Wisconsin, including 13 hospitals, more than 100 clinics and 135 community pharmacies. The Aurora hospitals include: St. Luke’s Medical Center, St. Luke’s South Shore, Aurora Sinai Medical Center, West Allis Memorial Hospital, Aurora Psychiatric Hospital, Aurora Medical Center in Hartford, Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha, Memorial Hospital of Burlington, Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn, Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers, Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center, Aurora Valley View Medical Center in Plymouth, and Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay.

Emageon based in Birmingham, Alabama enables IDNs (integrated delivery networks), hospitals and large multi-site imaging centers to rapidly access medical images, workflow and clinical information using enterprise class, standards-based advanced visualization and infrastructure software – in centralized or distributed environments.
