Governor Doyle Plans To Increase Web Access

MADISON, WI Governor Jim Doyle today announced his “Grow Wisconsin” initiative to drive state economic development. One of the recommendations is to increase broadband and communications access for all residents in the state.
Mike Tye, AT&T regional vice present of Law and Government Affairs, commented that AT&T is encouraged by the “Grow Wisconsin” initiative unveiled today by Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle. AT&T is committed to enhancing and expanding its competitive telecommunications offerings in Wisconsin.
“The general tenor of the Governor’s plan suggests a strong desire to promote innovation, new products, technology and increased productivity. We believe that a vigorously competitive telecommunications environment in Wisconsin is not only good for Wisconsin consumers, but also meets objectives of the Governor’s Plan,” said Mike Tye, AT&T regional vice present of Law and Government Affairs. ATT commends the Governor for recognizing the need to develop a competitive communications infrastructure that puts the state in a position to be “fully engaged in the national and global economy.”
