A Madison biotech company that raised nearly $1 million from angel investors a year ago will be acquired by Agilent Technologies Inc., Santa Clara, Calif.
BioSystem Development LLC creates and manufactures products to improve protein analysis methods for drug development. Agilent said it hopes to complete the acquisition by the end of the year.
Both companies are privately held and terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Agilent also said Thursday it would acquire Halo Genomics, a provider of technology for the rapidly growing DNA sequencing market.
“We’re getting world-class technology and expertise in two key areas that will help us expand our portfolio and deliver the most complete work flow solutions for our customers,” Nick Roelofs, president of Agilent’s life sciences group, said in a statement.
