Doyle announces technology tax credits for Berbee

Madison, Wis. - Gov. Jim Doyle has announced that Berbee Information Networks, which is planning to expand on the Fitchburg Technology Campus, will receive $250,000 in state Technology Zone tax credits.

Berbee, founded in 1993, plans to invest in a new 43,250-square-foot office building and a 51,500-square-foot data center in the New Venture Center, which is part of the Fitchburg Technology Campus.

The project is expected to cost $1.9 million and create 28 jobs, Doyle said.

The Technology Zone tax credit program, administered by the state Department of Commerce, is designed to provide incentives to new and growing businesses in the state's high-technology sectors.
