SBC to cut 10,000 jobsSBC Communications
, the parent company of SBC Wisconsin, will cut about 10,000 jobs by the end of next year, the company reported in filings with the SEC. According to spokesperson Howard Riefs, SBC does not know how many of the cut positions will be in Wisconsin, where SBC employs about 6,000. The companys filing said at least some of the cuts would come through attrition.

's, a Milwaukee hospital system. The hospital opened in October 2003 and has 32 inpatient beds, three operating rooms and three cardiac catheterization laboratories.
Wausau police nab suspected wireless hacker
A Wausau man faces federal charges on suspicion of hacking into the computers of a wireless service provider, the Wausau Daily Herald has reported
. Central Wisconsin Wireless Internet Services allegedly suffered $5,000 in losses as 100 customers could not access its service for three days last October. FBI agents were brought in and are accusing Matthew R. Schuster, 29, who if convicted could face 15 years in prison and $500,000 in fines.
